Antawn Jamison spent the 2012-13 season with the Los Angeles Lakers after coming along on the veteran’s minimum. During his time with the Lakers, he spent time with Kobe Bryant and received first hand knowledge on how Bryant approaches the game.

Since retiring from the NBA, Jamison has become an analyst for TWC SportsNet and helps cover the Lakers on game days. According to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, Jamison recently talked about his time with the Lakers and as Bryant’s teammates. He shot down the notion of Bryant being a hard person to play with:

Kobe gets a bad rap that he shoots the ball all the time and that it’s hard to play with him,” Jamison said in a recent interview with Los Angeles News Group, as part of a wide-ranging story regarding what qualities the Lakers’ No. 2 draft pick will need to thrive under Bryant’s presence. “It wasn’t difficult playing with him at all.”

Jamison’s description of Bryant is nothing new from him. He has constantly praised his former teammate on air and in other interviews. When comparing Bryant and LeBron James earlier in the year, Jamison complimented Bryant’s preparation and called him a great competitor.

The Lakers are coming off their worst season in franchise history and are in the middle of a rebuild. With the No. 2 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, the team will be adding a talented prospect to a roster than already has Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson.
