The Los Angeles Lakers will head into the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this weekend with all eyes on forward Brandon Ingram and rookie point guard Lonzo Ball. The two promising young players will play alongside one another for the first time at the Thomas & Mack Center with the Lakers being arguably the biggest draw in Vegas throughout Summer League from July 7-17.
According to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters, Ingram is already liking what he’s seeing from his new teammate praising his unselfish style of play:
Ingram described Lonzo as 'very unselfish': "He pushes the paces on the offensive end. I think he's going to create a lot of easy shots."

Along with the highly anticipated debut of Ball in a Lakers uniform, the team’s three other rookies will also dawn the purple and gold for the first time in Las Vegas. Josh Hart, Kyle Kuzma, and Thomas Bryant will be on the team’s roster for at least the minimum of five games the team is scheduled to play starting against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.
The Lakers are expected to put on a show during Summer League with most expecting Ball and Ingram to lead the team to victory in the tournament. Other notable names added to the team’s roster include Ivica Zubac, David Nwaba, and Vander Blue.
In five games last year, Ingram averaged 12.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while shooting 41.2 percent from the floor.
