The large assumption going into the NBA Draft is that the Philadelphia 76ers will take Ben Simmons first overall leaving the Los Angeles Lakers with the other consensus top prospect in the draft, Duke’s Brandon Ingram.

Ingram checks all of the boxes for a modern-day small forward in today’s NBA with his shooting and playmaking ability along with his outstanding size and length.

The Lakers officially worked out Ingram on Thursday and Ingram said that the workout went great according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

One major concern with Ingram is his frame as he is extremely skinny right now. Ingram says he has bulked up to 195 pounds over the last year, and according to Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders, hopes to add on some more weight this summer:

Barring an unexpected rise of some other prospect, or a massive trade offer, Ingram seems pretty much like a lock to come to the Lakers with the second pick in this draft and he would be an excellent addition.

Ingram is a perfect fit for the Lakers and if he is able to add on the necessary strength to deal with NBA players, it will go a long way towards him reaching his massive potential. If the Lakers come out of this summer with Ingram, and a couple of good free agents, this off-season would be a massive win.
