The Lakers impressive against Denver in the hunt for a 17th Championship, injuries plague the first round of the Playoffs and LeBron’s new career…

Ohhhh, yeah. We’re talking playoffs! Best time of the year and the 16 banners hanging in Staples agree with me. Before the game, our own Magic stated that this post season finds the Kobe and the Lakers in a new position, instead of going through Kobe, the road of for Ring #6 will be have to go through Bynum and Gasol.

It seemed that Bynum and Gasol heard and answered the call. Bynum had a triple double, the Lakers first in the playoffs in 21 years. Gasol had 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists with passes that would rival a point guard. Kobe appreciated the help but, with 31 points, not sure if “running through” other players are needed, just yet. Today’s game saw the Lakers with balanced scoring; all Laker starters were in double digits and smothering defense. Ty Lawson, Denver’s leading scorer, was held to only 4 points. And Bynum tied an NBA Playoff Record with Mark Eaton and Hakeem Olajuwon with 10 blocks.

After the win, Bynum said, “So, maybe…note to self, the more I play D, the better will be.”

Injuries were a big story for the first round. Both Derrick Rose and the Knicks’ Iman Shumpert tore ACLs with non contact plays. They will miss the remainder of the playoffs. Ray Allen missed game 1 due to his ankle and Chris Paul is expected to be limited due to his groin injury. Here’s a quick recap of this weekend’s action…
San Antonio beat Utah looking dominate, as #1 seed should.
The Thunder over the Mavericks in dramatic fashion as Durant throws in the game winner with less than a minute.
Orlando went to Indiana stole home court.

The Bulls won against the 76er’s but with a high cost. Rose fell with 1:10 left in the 4th Quarter.

The Heat destroyed the Knicks to take a 1-0 lead. LeBron outscored all Knicks starters by himself.
Finally, LeBron I have a suggestion for you. Since you are having trouble winning, not 1, not 2, not 3 etc.., championships, maybe you should look into acting. Cause this acting job is worthy of some hardware…
