NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder at Houston RocketsThe Houston Rockets are one of the possible destinations for Dwight Howard this summer, and many people believe the center is inching closer and closer to moving to the Lone Star State.

The Rockets’ young star Chandler Parsons recently spoke to the Houston Chronicle, and he offered his role in trying to lure Howard. Parsons said that he talks to Howard on a daily basis via text messaging as his bond with the Lakers’ center is quite strong.

According to the CBA, it sounds like Parsons is violating the tampering rule. However, the NBA has been very lenient about player tampering in the past. The NBA is a league filled with tight friendships and in today’s game, players are always looking for ways to join forces.

Parsons is part of a young nucleus in Houston, and the Rockets are hoping his relationship with Howard can intrigue the center to sign with the team over the summer.

“I talk to Dwight every day,” Parsons said. “I’ve created a relationship with him, where I feel like we’re very close. He hits me up about everything. I’ve covered pretty much every question he’s had. I basically tell him, ‘We have a chance to be really good without you next year. We’re going to have a good season. Why not come and join us, join our core guys who are for sure to be here and make us great, make us contend for a championship?’

The Lakers will do whatever it takes to bring back Howard and make sure he stays with the franchise for the long-term. Los Angeles is hungry for another championship, and it will be hard for them to do that if Howard decides to leave this summer.

No superstar has ever willingly left the Lakers franchise in free agency in the past, but Howard could be the first if he chooses to play for the Rockets.
