Heading into the 2015-16 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers look to rebound from their worst win percentage in franchise history. With this possibly being Kobe Bryant’s final season, D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson are expected to carry the franchise.
— What will D’Angelo Russell make this season? Find out here! —
On ESPN 710 Los Angeles, Russell discussed numerous topics with Mychal Thompson and Mike Trudell, including playing with Clarkson next season:
Russell on playing w/ Clarkson: "I feel like it’s dangerous & we can play together easily. I think it will just take some time” (on ESPN710)

While Russell shared he has not been told if he will be the team’s starting point guard, he is expected to start alongside Clarkson. With Bryant shifting to small forward, it will allow both of them to play major minutes and build chemistry.
Although Russell struggled with his shooting and turnovers at the Las Vegas Summer League, he showed his potential, including a 21-point performance in the final game. With Russell expected to carry the Lakers in the post-Kobe era, assistant coach Mark Madsen recently had high praise for the point guard’s vision.
With preseason not beginning until Oct. 4, Russell will have time to improve his game as he prepares for his matchup against the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft, Karl-Anthony Towns.
