Mike D'AntoniThe NBA season starts in 15 days and the Los Angeles Lakers are making the final cuts to their roster. The team made many additions over the summer, but now it is time to figure out who’s actually going to suit up on Opening Night.

As of right now, the Lakers are in China for two exhibition games against the Golden State Warriors, with one to be held in Beijing and the other in Shanghai. Coach Mike D’Antoni spoke to the media during practice and talked about what mindset his new players have going into the trip.

“We have guys competing for jobs,” Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni said at practice Monday. “They’re trying to earn jobs. So it’s a hard time for these players but they’re doing well.”

Adding players that can make an immediate impact on the bench or the starting lineup is very important for this team, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Kobe Bryant. At this point it is unclear when Bryant will return so it is imperative that the front office adds players who can fill the void.
