Derrick Caracter Injures Left Knee; Surgery Set for Wednesday

Second-year player for the Los Angeles Lakers, Derrick Caracter, has injured his left knee and will need surgery to repair it. Caracter has tore cartilage in the knee and the procedure will take place on Wednesday. At this point, it is not clear when Caracter can return to the court, but this injury leaves the Lakers lacking front-court depth.

The Lakers are already short big men and with the latest loss of Lamar Odom, Mike Brown will not have a lot to work with in his front-court. Although Caracter has not had a lot of NBA experience, with Odom gone, his minutes on the court would have increased. Hopefully Caracter can come back from this injury before opening night and help Gasol in the starting lineup.
