Last year the Los Angeles Lakers Summer League roster was one of the most talent-laden of any NBA team. This year’s version may not be quite as packed as last year’s, but there will still be plenty of people to watch.
Second year players D’Angelo Russell, Larry Nance Jr., and Anthony Brown are expected to lead the way while the Lakers’ two draft picks, Brandon Ingram and Ivica Zubac should also be suiting up. Apparently, another familiar face to Lakers fans, Jabari Brown will be on the team as well.
According to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News, Brown expects to play for the Lakers summer league team this year:

Brown isn’t the only bit of summer league news as former Notre Dame big man Zach Auguste is also expected to suit up for the Lakers squad according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders:

Brown will certainly be a name worth watching this summer. After playing in 19 games for the Lakers in 2015, Brown was the final cut of the team at the beginning of the season, as an underwhelming preseason led the Lakers to choose Metta World Peace for their final spot.
Auguste, meanwhile, was one of the best big men in the ACC last year where he averaged 14 points and just under 11 rebounds in helping lead the Fighting Irish to an Elite Eight appearance.
With plenty of openings on the roster both Brown and Auguste will be looking to impress the Lakers’ brass enough to earn an invite to training camp and potentially make the final roster. Time will tell if either is able to ultimately make that happen.
