It appears the Los Angeles Lakers have gotten a diamond in the rough last year with the selection of Jordan Clarkson in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft. Clarkson burst on the scene this past season earning the respect of his teammates, coaches, and peers after being named a starter by head coach Byron Scott.

Only weeks after the season mercifully came to an end for the Lakers, Clarkson was already back to work at the team’s practice facility. Clarkson took to Instagram to post a picture of the basketball floor in El Segundo and now we get to see a little footage of the work he’s been putting in during the off-season.

On Thursday, Clarkson posted the following video on his Instagram account:

With the NBA Draft lottery only days away, the Lakers could be on the verge of getting some good news with the team potentially landing a top-five pick in the draft. Clarkson may soon be joined by another player in the backcourt like Emmanuel Mudiay or D’Angelo Russell and that may have motivated the 22-year-old that much more.

It’ll be interesting to see how the work pays for Clarkson during the NBA Summer League in July. Clarkson will likely be joined by Julius Randle, Tarik Black, Jabari Brown, and possibly a top-tier rookie prospect on arguably one of the most talented Summer League teams coached by Mark Madsen.

The Samsung NBA Summer League will get underway on July 10 and will be played through the 20th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
