The Los Angeles Lakers worked out guard/forward out of University of California Berkeley, Jaylen Brown on Friday morning. The draft lottery prospect was First Team All Pac-12 and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in his lone collegiate season.

The Lakers have the second pick in the 2016 NBA draft and Duke’s Brandon Ingram is the likely choice at No. 2. However, the Lakers must do their due diligence in exploring all of their options, including working out players that are projected to go later in the lottery, as there is always the option of trading down.

Averaging 14.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 27.6 minutes per game at Cal, Brown entered college with high expectations having finished high school as a First-Team Parade All-American and McDonald’s All-American. Though Brown showcased plenty of inconsistencies during his time at Cal, Brown says he expects his skills to translate better in the NBA.

In the video above, Brown talks about molding his game after Tracy McGrady and modeling his mentality after Kobe Bryant.
