Jim Buss Expects Bryant, Bynum and Gasol to Return

Los Angeles Lakers executive Jim Buss, the same person that now makes the basketball decisions for the team, does not see much happening this off-season.

The Lakers were ousted out of the 2012 Playoffs by the Oklahoma City Thunder, and many people believed a face-lift would occur.

Even though the Lakers need some changes in the locker-room, Buss does not see that happening, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Buss said that chances were “very good” that they would start next season with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum all still on the team.

The Lakers need to add younger players to their roster and athletes that can compete with explosive opponents. Los Angeles had trouble staying with the Thunder and it seemed imperative that the team needed to bring in young legs.

The Lakers almost broke up their ‘Big Three’ last summer when Pau Gasol was traded in a deal that included Chris Paul before the deal was nixed by the league. Paul would surely had made the Lakers a title contender, but the league cancelled the trade. Although Buss says that Gasol and Bynum will return next season, he may change his mind if an attractive deal comes along.
