The Los Angeles Lakers are in the midst of their second straight lost season as they are on pace to have the worst record in the history of the franchise. With a likely top-5 selection in the draft and plenty of cap space, the Lakers are expected to make big changes this off-season.

One potential option is Cleveland Cavaliers’ power forward Kevin Love who has been linked to the team in the past and can opt-out of his contract after this season. Unfortunately for Lakers fans, Love said he sees no scenario in which the Lakers are an option according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:

Love, who played college basketball at UCLA, has had an underwhelming season so far as he has struggled to adapt playing with new teammates LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. He did, however, score a season-high 32 points as the Cavaliers defeated the Lakers on Sunday.

With Love struggling so much this season, many began to speculate as to whether or not he would stay in Cleveland beyond this year, and it has been long believed that Love would like to return to Los Angeles.

A lot can change between now and free agency in July, but it looks like the Lakers will have set their sights elsewhere when that time comes. Big men like Marc Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan and Greg Monroe are all unrestricted free agents this summer.
