Kobe Bryant Agrees With No Call Late Against Timberwolves

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Denver NuggetsThe Los Angeles Lakers escaped with a three point victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night despite being in control of the game for three quarters.

It seemed as though the Lakers would cruise over the Wolves to snap their three game winning streak, but due to some crucial missed free throws, the Wolves could have sent the game into overtime. In the final seconds, Lakers star Kobe Bryant was at the line with a chance to put the team up four and ice the game.

However, Bryant missed the last attempt and that allowed Ricky Rubio to drive up the court and launch a three-point shot in hopes of playing five more minutes. Kobe did challenge the shot, and to the dismay of the Minnesota fans, the referees did not call a foul on Bryant. After the game, Bryant spoke to Dave McMenamin and said there was no foul on the final possession.

The Lakers won their first game since the return of Pau Gasol, and added a little cushion over the Utah Jazz for the eighth seed in the conference. The team will return to action Thursday night when it makes its lone trip to Milwaukee to play the Bucks.
