Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers has long been one of the most polarizing players in the NBA. His viciousness and unrelenting will on the court has made him beloved by his fans but hated by many others. Kobe himself has said that he enjoys being the villain and being booed by opposing fans.

That mindset reared its head in a new Kobe commercial for Nike that was released in China. In it, Kobe says that even though fans love him, they really should hate him.

Kobe details the reasons why he should be hated, and it makes a lot of sense when he says it. The ad itself is likely to give you goosebumps and really shows why Kobe is Kobe.

With his career coming to an end in less than a week, everyone can look back on Kobe’s career as one of the greatest ever and thank him for all that he has done. Even with that, however, Kobe still enjoys finding a way to be hated.
