Kobe Bryant No. 6 Amongst U.S. Athletes in Annual Earnings

Kobe Bryant has moved up on Sports Illustrated’s annual list of top earning athletes, jumping one spot from last season. This takes into account salary, winnings, endorsements and appearance fees.

Bryant is the second highest earning NBA player, behind only LeBron James of the Miami Heat. According to Sports Illustrated Bryant is estimated to bring in $34,806,250 in 2011. $10 million of that is from endorsements alone. James is the third highest paid athlete in the country, with Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts and Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees between him and Bryant.

The top two athletes on the list are both golfers on the PGA Tour, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
