Kobe Bryant Wants League and Union to Meet Prior to Deadline

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant wants the league and players union to meet in New York prior to David Stern’s Wednesday deadline. Stern told the union that the current CBA proposal will stay on the table until Wednesday, and if it is not accepted, the owners will then offer only 47% of the BRI split and will include a flex-cap.

Yahoo Sports: “We need for the two sides to get together again before Wednesday, because we’re too close to getting a deal done,” Bryant told Yahoo! Sports on Monday. “We need to iron out the last system items and save this from spiraling into a nuclear winter.”

Reports have said that the two sides are working to schedule a labor meeting for Tuesday, but they may face some problems as players representatives for 30 teams will be making their way to New York that same day.
