Kobe Looking to Pass John Havlicek On All-Time Scoring List

With just 21 points tonight Kobe Bryant can move past another legend on the all-time scoring list in the NBA. This time Bryant will move past John Havlicek, and become the eleventh highest scorer in league history. While Bryant has been tearing through the record books for most of his career, this will be an even sweeter accolade for the lifetime Laker – he will have more points scored than any member of the Boston Celtics.

John Havlicek was a legendary player for the Celtics back in the 1960’s and 70’s. His career mark of 26,395 points is the record for Boston, and will soon be good enough for twelfth on the all-time list. The Lakers-Celtics rivalry is never short of drama or bragging rights, and this will be another one in favor of the Lakers.

After Havlicek on the all-time NBA list will be Dominique Wilkins, who scored 26,668 points in his Hall of Fame career. Bryant should be able to pass Wilkins later on this season if he is able to stay healthy.

For Kobe Bryant this is just another notch on his belt as he continues to march towards the all-time greats, including the record of 38,387 that is held by another Laker legend, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
