Kobe Bryant is one of the most fierce competitors the NBA has ever seen. He works harder than nearly anyone and he expects his teammates to put in the same amount of work to get better. If they don’t, he has no problems letting them know how he feels.

It is that mindset that has led to some high-profile spats between Kobe and certain teammates and the perception that Kobe is an extremely impatient person who will explode if his team isn’t winning. Something that Kobe told Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski is completely false:

The idea of me having no patience is misunderstood,” Bryant told Yahoo Sports on Tuesday night. “I don’t have patience when we’re not putting the work in, if I see that we’re not doing our job as professionals. If that’s happening, I’ll let my team know about it. But this is not that kind of group. We work. These guys want to get better every day. They’re there early working, they’re there late working.”

Fans have seen a different Kobe Bryant for the most part this season as far as his relationship with his teammates. While he still chews some guys out when the time calls for it, he has also done a lot of teaching and can be seen coaching guys on the bench.

Bryant remains loyal to the Lakers and has been adamant that he will never wear another jersey in his NBA career. While everyone is waiting for Kobe to explode as the Lakers continue to struggle, Bryant continues to believe in his guys that they will turn things around because of the work they are all putting in.
