Laker News: Three Lakers Appear On The 2014 All-Star Game Ballot

It’s still early in the season, however two weeks in there are three Lakers who are the official 2014 NBA All-Star ballot. According to NBA.com official 2014 All-Star Ballot, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Steve Nash are the three Lakers that represent the Western Conference on the ballot.

Bryant, a four time all-star MVP, has yet to suit up for a game this season, and image itself could be enough to earn him his 16th strait all-star berth. Bryant has been an all-star starter in every all-star game since 1998 (there was no all-star game in the lockout shortened 1998-99 season). Meanwhile Gasol is a four time all-star himself and will look to make his first all-star appearance since 2010, in a conference that is much improved in terms of big men.

While Nash’s minutes have been limited this season he will look to earn his ninth all-star appearance. Nash will clearly have his work cut out for him in a point guard heavy conference. The Lakers have had at least one all-star in every all-star game since 1997, and will look to continue that trend.
