Lakers Draft Workouts: Holmes, Vaughn, Walker, Haws, Sykes, Thomas

collage(3)The Los Angeles Lakers continued their pre-draft workouts with six potential prospects on Wednesday morning: Richaun Holmes, Rashad Vaughn, Chris Walker, Tyler Haws, Keifer Sykes, and Aaron Thomas.

In his four seasons spent at Brigham Young, Haws averaged 19.6 points per game. Among many accolades, the 6’5″ shooting guard was named Honorable Mention All-American by the AP, a finalist for the Jerry West Award, All-WCC First Team, WCC All-Tournament Team, and Senior CLASS Award Second-Team All-American in 2015.

Holmes, a 6’8 1/4″ power forward out of Bowling Green State was the MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2014-15 and NABC District 14 All-District First Team selection, averaging 14.7 points, 8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game in his senior season.

Sykes spent four seasons at Green Bay and impressed onlookers at the NBA Draft Combine when he measured a 43.0 inch max vertical leap, despite standing just 5’10 1/2.” The point guard received Horizon League Player of the Year honors in both 2014-15 and 2013-14.

Thomas, played just six games in his junior season at Florida State, before being ruled ineligible by the NCAA. In his sophomore season, Thomas earned All-ACC Honorable Mention honors and averaged a career/team-high 14.5 points per game.

Vaughn (6’3 3/4″ G) played just one season for UNLV and was selected as the Mountain West Freshman of the Year, earning honorable mention all-league honors and starting all 23 games he played in before being sidelined with a knee injury.

Walker, a 6’8 3/4″ power forward out of Florida played two years there in the SEC, averaging 3.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 49 career appearances, including six starts. Walker also led his high school (Holmes County) to a 1A state championship and a 20-8 record during his senior season. Check out all of their interviews below!
