Lakers Draft Workouts: Stainbrook, Smith, Williams, Wesley, Powell

The Los Angeles Lakers worked out Mitch McCarron, Norman Powell, Byron Wesley, Alan Williams, Cliff Alexander, Alex Harris, Matt Stainbrook and Joshua Smith on Tuesday. Alexander, however, injured his right knee toward the end of the workout and Harris only completed about half of the workout due to illness.

McCarron, a 6’3″ junior point guard out of Metro State, was born in Australia and was a member of the Australian U-19 team.

Powell stands 6’3″ as a shooting guard and played all four seasons at UCLA, elected First-Team All-Pac-12 in his final collegiate season. Wesley (6’4″ PG) played his first three collegiate seasons at USC before playing his final year at Gonzaga. Williams, a 6’7 1/4″ power forward, played all four seasons at Santa Barbara, finishing as the school’s all-time leader in rebounds, second in points, and second in blocks.

Alexander played one season as a 6’7 1/4″ PF/C for Kansas, named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week during his freshman season. Harris, 6’1″ shooting guard, played three seasons at Cal State Fullerton and was All-Big West Honorable Mention in 2014 and 2015.

Smith, 6’10” center out of Georgetown, played three seasons at UCLA and his final two seasons at Georgetown. As a senior, he was one of 15 nominees for the inaugural Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award.

Stainbrook, 6’10” center out of Xavier, was named 2014-15 Big East Conference Second Team by Big East coaches his senior year, leading Xavier with a team high of 15.3 points per game and 8.3 rebounds over three NCAA Tournament games. Check out all of their interviews below.
