Kobe spoke with Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report on TNT during the matchup between the Lakers and the Knicks to talk about where he’s at physically. Kobe said the following:

“Treadmill. I’m running now. So it feels good to be able to run. You know, there’s only so much sitting on a bike a man can do. Get up and starting moving around a little bit.”

Bucher went on to ask about renewing basketball activities and when Kobe was expecting to do so:

“Probably a couple of weeks. Probably touch a ball a little bit, shooting a little bit.”

With Kobe officially shutdown for the season, all the attention turns to the upcoming off-season and getting his body right for the start of next season. Although initially reluctant to the throw the towel in on the season, Kobe has realized it was the best move to make with the team headed toward a high pick in the upcoming 2014 NBA Draft.
