Lakers Nation News And Rumors Recap: Larry Nance Jr. Close To A Return?

Lakers Trending Up And Down: 2016-17 Nba Season, Week 6

After suffering a bone bruise almost a month ago, Larry Nance Jr. appears to be nearing a return to the court. The second year big man completed practices this week and was listed as questionable for Friday’s game. Head coach Luke Walton confirmed that Nance will miss Friday’s game.

The Lakers could deeply use Nance back in their rotation. The team has gone 4-11 since his injury and have seen their playoff chances dwindle as well. When healthy, Nance has shown improvement in Walton’s offense. He has improved his stats across the board including points, rebounds, assists, and steals per game.

With the Lakers slowly sinking toward the bottom of the standings, Nance should get a lot of time on the court once he returns from injury. The Lakers will start to look at their young core as the All-Star break and trade deadline approach.
