Lakers Nation Poll Results: Fans Predict Brian Shaw’s Coaching Future

With several head coaching vacancies in Detroit, Brooklyn and Philadelphia, Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw’s name has surfaced as a candidate. Shaw has been linked to the 76ers job as he’s definitely qualified to be a head coach in the NBA.

We asked Lakers Nation if they thought Shaw would finally get a head coaching job and here are the results:

In our poll, 90 percent believe that Shaw will land a head coaching gig and all signs point towards that happening. After former Lakers coach Phil Jackson didn’t return after the 2011 season, Shaw was a logical fit to continue the triangle offense in Los Angeles.

However, the Buss family tried to move away from Jackson’s ideas and Shaw decided to move on to Indiana and is head coach Frank Vogel’s lead assistant.

Earlier in the off-season, Shaw was regarded as one of the top coaching candidates on the market and after the Pacers are eliminated, he’ll get hired very quickly.

Beloved by Laker fans everywhere, Shaw is a defensive minded coach who would instill the principles of the triangle offense into whichever team he’s eventually hired by.

While he’s been with the Pacers, Shaw has personally helped forward Paul George take his game to the next level and delivered an inspiring speech to the team prior to their Game 1 victory over the New York Knicks.

Shaw won three championships with the Lakers and will always be remembered for his heroics in Game 7 against the Portland Trail Blazers in 2000.
