Lakers Nation Week in Review: Dec. 25 – Dec. 31

The season finally began this week and saw the Lakers take the court five times in seven days. After starting the season 0-2 the team managed to win their next three games to sit at 3-2 heading into the second week of the season.

Obviously there was a lot to cover over the past week, so here’s a look back at some of the biggest stories surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers over the past week.

Game Recaps

Andrew Bynum makes season debut against Nuggets. After missing the first four games of the season due to a suspension, Bynum returned with a bang against the Nuggets.

Lakers begin first winning streak by defeating the Knicks. After starting 0-2 the Lakers evened up their record with an impressive win over the New York Knicks. This was the ninth straight win over New York for the Lakers.

Mike Brown records his first win with the Lakers as L.A. defeated the Jazz. After losing their first two games head coach Mike Brown finally got on the board with a win over the Utah Jazz.

Lakers fall to 0-2 after losing to the Kings in Sacramento. After blowing an opportunity for a win on Christmas the Lakers fell flat against an up-and-coming Sacramento squad.

Lakers fall to Bulls in Christmas Day collapse. The Lakers saw a sure-fire victory slip away late in the fourth on Christmas against reigning MVP Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls.

Highlight Videos

Metta World Peace elevates for a big-time slam against the Jazz. The artist formerly known as Ron Artest brought out some old-school hops for this dunk against Utah.

Kobe Bryant’s 4-point play against the Knicks epitomizes the night for New York. The Lakers took care of business against the Knicks quite easily, and Kobe Bryant was one of the reasons why.

Derek Fisher hits the deck to save the ball, game for the Lakers. Late in the game against the Denver Nuggets the Lakers were looking to hang on to a slim lead late in the game. Derek Fisher crashed to the floor to corral a loose ball and help the Lakers seal the deal.
