The NBA’s free agency period has begun and the Los Angeles Lakers are busy trying to bring in the league’s best talent. Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James are the two main players the Lakers have targeted and there is a chance both of them could sign with the team this summer.

Although the Lakers have Kobe Bryant’s massive two-year contract in the books, the team is still able to sign high level players in the coming weeks. With all the names circulating around Los Angeles, it was hard to keep track with what exactly the Lakers were doing, but here is a look back at the past week.

Carmelo Anthony is likely choosing between the Lakers and Knicks.

The Lakers are battling the Knicks and Bulls for Carmelo. 

Chris Kaman signed a deal with the Portland Trailblazers.

Mitch Kupchak met James’ agent in Cleveland. 

Los Angeles offered Anthony the max deal during its meeting.

The Knicks scheduled their sit down with Anthony on the same day as the Lakers’. 

James Worthy was present in the Lakers’ pitch to Carmelo.

Kobe Bryant returned from Europe to meet with Anthony. 

Julius Randle will not need surgery on his foot.

Jodie Meeks has left the Lakers to join the Detroit Pistons.  

The Lakers will give a league high $49 million in revenue sharing.

Los Angeles has reached out to free agent Nick Young. 

Mitch Kupchak said Kobe looks good following his injury recovery.

Julius Randle believes he can make an immediate impact. 

Pau Gasol will meet with several teams during his free agency search.
