Kobe Bryant announced that he will not be playing this friday against the Sacramento Kings, but has not ruled out Sunday against the Toronto Raptors. This has been one of the most anticipated games coming up as the whole world wants to see how Bryant is going to bounce back from his injury. As Laker fan’s undoubtedly know the NBA just has not been the same without Bryant. NBA TV will be broadcasting the Lakers-Raptors game in anticipation of Bryant’s return to the hardwood.

Bryant will determine if his body is ready for the Raptors according to how his body reacts within the next three days. He still doesn’t have his “sea legs” to do his patented fade away jump shots . Mike D’Antoni has also hinted that Bryant’s return is in a matter of days and not weeks.

During a recent Rachel Nichol’s interview with Bryant they discussed how Bryant felt when he sustained the injury. Bryant responded that he was contemplating retirement because he has gone through 17 seasons of the NBA and his body was hurting. It was only natural for him to thinking of calling it quits. He was doubting whether he wanted to go through what it takes to come back from an Achilles injury. But those thoughts only waned in the moment as Gary Vitti recalled that Bryant wanted to immediately get surgery and start back on the road to recovery.
