Lakers News and Rumors Recap: 4-3 On The Road, Back At Home

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Miami HeatThe Lakers Grammy road trip ended 4-3 which isn’t terrible, but I would have much rather seen a 5-2 verdict without a loss to the Suns. The games did show positives for the team, especially when the Lakers beat the Bobcats after the team stripped Charlotte of their 20 point lead. Or how about the game against the Heat where L.A., even though they lost, looked like they could keep up with the reigning champions. Although LeBron and the bad Lakers fourth quarter ultimately led to the loss, the team remained competitive through most of the game.

The road trip did result in an injured Pau, who’s presence has been missed on the court. He thrived when Dwight was sidelined, and still will be out for almost two more months. The Lakers have a chance to redeem themselves Tuesday night, as they face the Phoenix Suns at Staples Center.

In case you want a recap of the Lakers on the road, check out the top 5 Lakers Video Highlights from their 7 game stint. Hint: there is a lot of Kobe being amazing.

Also check out Suki Thind’s NBA Power Rankings, where the Lakers are #14 on his list. With a record of 24-28, the Lakers are just under .500 and need to continue winning games to have any chance of making it to the playoffs. Pau being out for six to eight weeks with a foot injury resulted in a lower grade for the Lakers, as well as player strife outside the court. The Spurs (#1), Heat (#2), and Thunder (#3) round out your top three with the Clippers dropping to #4 after they lost eight of their last 12 games with an injured Chris Paul.
