This off-season the Lakers have a number of tasks. Chief among them is the hiring of a new coach. After taking a little while, things have finally kicked off as the team has begun interviewing potential candidates.

Yesterday introduced Lionel Hollins as a candidate, but today brought a new name into the fold. Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach Alvin Gentry will interview for the job on Wednesday.

Gentry joins Hollins, Mike Dunleavy, and Byron Scott as candidates who have interviewed or are scheduled to do so.

Today also brought out new Kevin Love rumors with new destinations emerging, which could damage the Lakers’ chances of landing the All-Star. The Washington Wizards are looking like a ‘stealth candidate’ after their impressive playoff run and the Sacramento Kings may be willing to trade for Love with no assurances of Love re-signing with the team.
