NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Houston RocketsThe Lakers are in the heart of their preseason schedule as they prepare for their season opener October 29, but questions continue to be asked about what will happen after this season. The Lakers are hoping to bring in a marquee free agent and players may have to take pay cuts in order to make that happen.

Pau Gasol has been through his share of highs and lows with the Lakers, but today he told Mark Medina that he is not looking to take a pay cut after his contract expires if he can help it. Taking the same approach Kobe Bryant has, you can’t fault Gasol for wanting to get as much money as possible.

People are also worried about the health of Steve Nash as he sat out the second half of last night’s game. Coach D’Antoni said that Nash is likely to have injury issues off and on all year. Hopefully, Nash will be more on than off this season.
