Can I just say how ecstatickobe-bryant-lakers-surgery I am that Kobe has Twitter/Instagram? The Mamba has been evaluated for his uses of the social media machines before, but after an SB Nation rant today (that wasn’t real, by the way) about how Bryant’s injury was a hoax Kobe did the only understandable thing. He showed us a photo, of his open wound, during surgery. BOOM!

Warning. The photo is graphic so click the link at your own risk (about halfway down the page): Kobe’s open ankle during surgery.

Throughout this whole ordeal, Bryant has done a fabulous job of keeping fans in the loops about whats been going on post Achilles surgery. The Lakers need him healthy more than ever; if the 2013 playoffs taught us anything, L.A. is not the same without Bryant. Klay Thompson of the Warriors did an interview this morning, shining light onto the value of this Lakers legend. When describing what it was like guarding Bryant for the first time, Thompson said:

“Just guarding Kobe was a crazy experience. The moves he had, the calls he was going to get. I can see from the stands – man this guy gets a lot of calls, but I can see he deserves them. He’s a Hall of Famer. But you know, guarding him is a tough thing to do.”

The Clippers have been rumored to be clearing cap space for an interesting move this summer. It looks like the Lakers are not the only team interested in Dwight Howard, with Lob City making a run for the big man. Don’t get worried just yet; if CP3 remains, a lot of salary room would have to be made to also be able to get Dwight Howard. Ultimately, the acquisition may be impossible.
