Lakers News and Rumors Recap: Kobe Will Miss Third Game of the Season

Tomorrow’s game against San Antonio will have the Lakers without Kobe Bryant once again.Visibly on the bench last night, Kobe sported a boot for his injured left shin, but will still need a few more days before he is at playing ability. The Lakers play the Spurs twice more after tomorrow in the coming weeks, and hopefully will have a healthy Kobe Bryant.

Ramon Sessions and Pau Gasol have been playing well recently, along with Steve Blake. Hopefully the rest of the starting lineup and the bench can prevail tomorrow night like last night’s game, despite struggles from not having Bryant. For more on Kobe’s injury report, click here.

The Lakers, despite winning the game, struggled during last night’s game against New Orleans. Only winning by one basket, the Lakers pulled a 93-91 victory over the Hornets. Kobe is known for being that player you want in crunch time; we have seen this time and time again. This proved true last night when the Lakers really started to lose some steam in the third quarter, leaving them trailing by eight points with just over six minutes left in the fourth quarter. Hard work and good defense eventually paid off, even though the victory was close. But I’ll take a one-basket win over a loss any day.

Pau Gasol had 25 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. Andrew Bynum had 18 points and 11 rebounds. Ramon Sessions had 17 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Barnes had nine points and eight rebounds while Blake added eight points and four assists.
