The Lakers showed another step in their growth Thursday night by fighting their way back from a 19-point deficit to eventually defeat the Sacramento Kings, 101-91. The Kings led for most of the game, but behind the strong bench play of Lou Williams, the Lakers were able to make it close entering the fourth, where they Lakers outscored the Kings, 31-18.

Lou led the Lakers with 21 points; D’Angelo Russell had 17, and Julius Randle chipped in a stuffed stat sheet with 15 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Larry Nance Jr. made his return from a concussion, finishing with two points, seven rebounds, and two steals.

The Lakers (5-4) will now head to New Orleans to take on Anthony Davis and the Pelicans who just picked up their first win of the season over the Milwaukee Bucks. DeMarcus Cousins had his way with the Lakers, finishing with 28 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals. Stopping Davis won’t be any easier.
