With the Los Angeles Lakers in the midst of another disappointing year, it only makes sense that the priorities for the team as a whole begin to change. As the playoffs become less of a possibility, the top priority will begin to shift towards the development of the team’s young core.

Many fans would prefer the Lakers move veterans like Lou Williams or Nick Young if they can get a good draft pick or young asset in return, but what they could fetch in return for either of them remains to be seen.

Head coach Luke Walton recently said he thinks Zubac could start at some point this season. The sooner the Lakers give the rookie big man minutes, the better as Mozgov hasn’t quite made the impact everyone hoped when he was signed this summer.

Although the Lakers may not win many games in the second half of the season, they should be an exciting team as Walton gives the keys to the team to his young players.
