In Tuesday’s preseason game against the Utah Jazz in Hawaii, the Los Angeles Lakers suffered two injuries to their players. While D’Angelo Russell has a glute injury, it was unclear if Brandon Bass would play against the Toronto Raptors after his knee slammed against the floor.

According to Lakers.com reporter Mike Trudell, the results of the MRI/CT scan showed a patella contusion in Bass’ knee and he is considered day-to-day:

Considering the amount of injuries over the last couple of seasons, the Lakers are extremely fortunate Bass is not expected to miss a significant amount of games. Over the past three seasons, Bass has played in all 82 games except for one.

Heading into the new season, there were questions on who would start at power forward between Bass and Julius Randle. With Randle currently starting for head coach Byron Scott, Bass will be a great mentor for the second-year forward out of Kentucky.
