Lakers News: Brian Shaw Says Kobe Has Always ‘Felt Invincible’

Following the impressive win over the New Orleans Pelicans at home on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers jumped on a plane and headed to arguably one of the most difficult places to play in the NBA.

The Lakers will face off against Brian Shaw’s Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center on Wednesday night. Shaw reflected on playing with his former teammate, Kobe Bryant, before heading into the matchup with his former team according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin via Twitter:

Shaw played a role in all five titles Kobe won with the Lakers. Kobe and Shaw were teammates for the first three titles and became one of Phil Jackson’s assistant coaches for the last two.

Needless to say, Shaw still has a soft spot for the Lakers and his former teammate. Shaw also went onto say that he often tell his players stories about Bryant via Bleacher Report’s Kevin Ding:

Denver has gotten off to a rough start under Shaw with the team dealing with the loss of Andre Iguodala in free agency and having won only two games on the season heading into tonight’s matchup against the Lakers.

Last year, the Nuggets lost only three games at the Pepsi Center for the entire regular season. So far this season, Denver has lost two out of the three games played at home.
