Lakers News: Chris Kaman Likes Mike D’Antoni’s Offensive System

One of the newest additions to the Lakers, Chris Kaman, talked about how he likes Mike D’Antoni’s offensive system. According to Mark Medina, Kaman talked about how he likes the fast paced style and consistent pick and roll style of basketball at his introductory press conference with the Lakers on Tuesday.

Kaman is heading into his 11th season in the NBA and has always been known as a pick-and-pop type of player who can hit the midrange jumper consistently. Playing alongside Steve Nash in Dantoni’s system can be exactly what Kaman needs to get back to the All-Star level that he was at not to long ago.

Kaman,31, was officially introduced by general manager Mitch Kupchak Tuesday afternoon in Los Angeles. With Dwight Howard departing for Houston, Kaman will most likely be seeing plenty of minutes at the center spot. Pau Gasol, for all intensive purposes, seems to be the starting center for now. However, Kaman can serve as a very serviceable big in Dantoni’s system.

Last season in 66 games with the Mavericks, Kaman averaged 10.5 points, and 56. rebounds. Kaman was an All-Star just three years ago in 2010 with the Clippers. Kaman has averaged 11.8 points, and 5.6 rebounds in 10 seasons, playing for the Clippers, Hornets, and Mavericks.
