Over the past few weeks, speculation has run rampant in Los Angeles about the pending return of superstar Kobe Bryant. The Los Angeles Lakers have played better than expected without their face of the franchise on the floor, but the team has been counting down the days until the five-time NBA champion can get back into the lineup.

Fortunately, the Lakers will have Bryant back in the lineup very soon with head coach Mike D’Antoni optimistic of his chances of playing against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday according to Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com:

Bryant was thought to be set to make his season debut against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night, but the veteran shooting guard felt like he needed a bit more time and neglected to travel to Sleep Train Arena in order to prepare for his potential debut on Sunday.

With the Lakers playing at the Staples Center and Bryant getting two extra days to prepare, it’d be safe to say the perennial All-Star will be on the floor against the Raptors. The only thing that may prevent his debut is a setback today or tomorrow, but it appears the time may have finally come for the future Hall of Famer to get back to business.
