The long-awaited deal between Time Warner Cable and DirecTV has finally become a reality according to Kevin Ding of the OC Register:

The 2012-13 Lakers are finally coming to DirecTV.

A deal for DirecTV to carry Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes, the new Time Warner Sports networks broadcasting nearly all Lakers games this season, is expected in the coming days.

After months of speculation and daily calls from frustrated Los Angeles Lakers fans asking for Time Warner Cable SportsNet, the two major networks have apparently agreed to see eye-to-eye on a new deal. The deal isn’t official, but should be announced within the coming days.

With DirecTV servicing a large area in the city of Los Angeles, many Lakers fans have been left without the ability to watch Time Warner Cable SportsNet or Time Warner Cable Deportes. As a result, Lakers games that haven’t been nationally televised have been unavailable for DirecTV customers.

DirecTV will join other major networks Cox Communications, Verizon Fios, AT&T U-verse and Charter Cable that have already agreed to a deal with Time Warner Cable.
