The prospects might not be to be among the players chosen when the Lakers make their later picks at No. 27 and No. 34. However, that didn’t stop one of them from saying whom the Lakers should take with their No. 2 pick. According to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters, Cook had some praise for his former Duke teammate Jahlil Okafor and would like to the Lakers draft the center:

Cook also provided an inside look at Okafor’s game while complimenting his shooting touch:

Cook spent four years at Duke and helped the Blue Devils win the NCAA National Title along with Okafor. In his final season, Cook averaged 15.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.0 steals a game while playing in 35.8 minutes and providing solid veteran leadership for Okafor and the other freshmen on the roster.

The Lakers are reportedly “locked-in” on Okafor, but nothing is really set in stone until June 25’s draft. Following a Friday workout in Las Vegas, Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingis impressed the Lakers and other NBA teams and made his case for being one of the top prospects available. In addition, the Lakers could select Karl-Anthony Towns if the Minnesota Timberwolves draft Okafor. D’Angelo Russell and Emmanuel Mudiay are also on the Lakers’ radar.
