Dwight HowardIn Houston, TX for All-Star Weekend, Dwight Howard took some time to talk to the media. Even though the Lakers are struggling at the break, Howard is still trying to remain optimistic and positive. He was asked about his position in the league and whether or not he’s still the best center in the league.

He wasn’t shy with his response.

“Yes. At 75 percent.”

Well I guess that pretty much sums that up. Howard has been criticized by fans and media members alike this season, and alluded to that criticism as well. In fact, when asked why he hasn’t been smiling as much on the court, Howard admitted it was due to criticism.

Regardless, Howard is still the starting center for the Western Conference All-Stars, and is expected to land a max contract this off-season. Whether or not he returns to the Lakers is yet to be seen, but for now it appears his confidence isn’t waning.
