Lakers News: Dwight Howard Cleared to Play Friday vs. Utah

Los Angeles Lakers v Los Angeles ClippersLos Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard injured his right shoulder Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies and he was forced to sit out the remainder of the game.

Even though the setback seemed serious at first, Howard has been cleared to play and should be on the court for the Lakers’ next game, tonight vs. Utah.

The OC Register reports that Howard did not damage his shoulder any further and should be back in the lineup when the Lakers play the Jazz on Friday night.

Lakers center Dwight Howard did not suffer any additional damage to his right shoulder during Wednesday’s loss at Memphis and has been cleared to play, the team announced Thursday.

Howard aggravated the shoulder in the second quarter of the Grizzlies game, and everyone feared that he damaged his already weak right shoulder. Howard suffered a torn labrum Jan. 4 and missed three games because of it.

However, Howard is ready for the Lakers’ next match and fans are hoping he can help guide the team to a much-needed victory.
