Lakers News: Dwight Howard Ends Twitter Absence

There usually isn’t a lot of NBA news in the middle of August. Most of the free agents have been signed and the big trades have been completed. Teams and players are preparing for training camp and the pre-season by working themselves into shape.

So with the overall lack of NBA action in the middle of August, us desperate basketball junkies are looking for anything to quench our thirst and hold us over until the action starts up again next month.

That’s why news like this, that Dwight Howard has ended his three month Twitter absence actually constitutes as news. Howard, who hadn’t tweeted since April 20, finally broke his 140-character silence yesterday.

Howard, who was acquired by the Lakers via trade earlier this month, has been rehabbing his back injury in L.A. for the majority of the summer. News recently surfaced that he also bought a $20 million mansion in L.A., which is encouraging for Laker fans who are worried he might bolt for free agency following this season.
