Dwight Howard has found a new team to play for in the 2012-13 NBA season and he has also found a new place to live. Howard will be teaming up with Kobe Bryant next season in hopes of winning a championship and fans hope that ‘Superman’ will be staying with the franchise for the next several years.

Howard spent $20 million on a mansion in Newport Beach, the same city that Lakers star Kobe Bryant calls home. Slam Magazine reports on the purchase and hints at Howard’s future with the Lakers.

Dwight Howard just dropped $20 million for a home in Newport Beach, where Kobe Bryant also lives. Doesn’t look like Superman is going anywhere, any time soon

Howard will be making $19,536,360 next season so his home will not be totally covered with his salary. However, Howard has amassed millions of dollars thanks to his salary from the Orlando Magic and his various sponsorships.

The news of Howard purchasing a home in Los Angeles may indicate his intentions of staying long-term with the team. Even though his income is much higher than that of the the average Americans, no one would buy a new house with the idea of moving out in a year.

$20 million is a lot of money and it would be hard seeing Howard leave Los Angeles after such a massive purchase.
