After Lakers’ owner Dr. Jerry Buss passed away in February, the future of the team has been questioned. While, for the most part, the team will remain steady in the hands of the Buss family, some of the moving pieces and roles will still be determined moving forward. One position that has officially been cleared up and approved by the league is managing governor of the franchise, according to David Aldridge of NBA.com.

In addition to being named team governor, Buss also serves as the team’s executive vice president of business operations and is the team representative at NBA Board of Governors meetings.

Buss, who has been a member of the Lakers organization for over 15 years, is expected to continue her father’s legacy of success in Southern California.
