Following the win, Meeks spoke to the media about his impressive performance and the 26-year-old gave a hat tip to Kobe Bryant for helping him with his approach to the game, night in and night out. Meeks said the following according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Although Meeks isn’t much of a talker when it comes to post-game interviews or speaking to the media in general, the sharpshooter let his game speak for him on Sunday. Meeks torched the Thunder on Sunday scoring the game-high 42 points on 11-of-18 from the floor.

Over the course of his career in the NBA, Meeks has become known for his ability to stretch the floor with his outside shooting. On Sunday, Meeks continued to drive defenders crazy hitting 6-of-11 shots from beyond the arc as the Thunder simply had no answer for his hot shooting.

Along with scoring a career-high point total, Meeks was the main reason for turning things around for the Lakers against arguably the best team in the Western Conference. The Lakers were down as much as 18 points until Meeks exploded in the third quarter, outscoring the Thunder by himself, 20-19.

Needless to say, Meeks had a Kobe-like performance against Oklahoma City by putting the team on his back when they needed him the most. Along with being a scoring machine, Meeks also grabbed four steals in the win and continues to make strides on both ends of the floor this season.

Even though the Lakers appear destined to be in the draft lottery, the team has shown some heart in this win along with the victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. The devastating loss to the Los Angeles Clippers was devastating to say the least, but the team has been able to bounce back and possible save Mike D’Antoni’s job in the process.
