Outside of the Kobe Bryant farewell tour, the most important facet of this Los Angeles Lakers season is the development of the young core. In particular, the trio of Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, and D’Angelo Russell is viewed as the future of this team.

Randle has shown signs of being a major player for this team in the coming years, but recently he has struggled, shooting 29 percent in the last three games, with two of those being single-digit scoring outings.

When mired in a slump, some young players struggle to keep their confidence up, but Randle says that his confidence is just fine according to Bob Garcia of Sports Out West:

This is definitely a positive sign and one that has become synonymous with each of the Lakers young players. None of them seem to lack confidence and struggles or a slump never bring them down to where they start doubting themselves.

Randle is an extremely hard worker who is always working to improve his game and it looks as if that is his solution to getting back to his expected level of play.

One good thing for Randle is that his activity level has never wavered and his rebounding numbers continue to remain at a high level even when his scoring drops. The Lakers starters as a whole are going through some problems right now, so it will be up to Randle and the rest of the group to figure things out both individually and as a unit.
