After news broke of Kentucky’s Julius Randle potentially needing surgery on his right foot, the forward’s draft stock took a hit with no telling where he’d end up.

With Randle now possibly falling to the Los Angeles Lakers at seven, the storied franchise will bring in the former Wildcat for a workout, according to Bill Oram of the OC Register:

Before talk of Randle potentially needing surgery surfaced, only a handful of draft prospects were mentioned as possible targets for the Lakers. Aaron Gordon (Arizona), Noah Vonleh (Indiana) and Marcus Smart (Oklahoma State) have worked out with the team and will likely get consideration from the Lakers if available when the team is on the clock.

Other notable players that the Lakers worked out earlier this month are Tyler Ennis (Syracuse), Zach LaVine (UCLA) and Doug McDermott (Creighton). LaVine left an impressive during his pre-draft workout breaking a team record with a 46-inch vertical jump.

It still remains to be seen what the Lakers brass intend to do with the seventh overall pick in the upcoming draft. Talk of trading the pick continues to circulate as June 26 draws near, but it is unclear if that is a real possibility and if the team would seriously consider it if Randle is available.
