Kobe Bryant has always been one of the most iconic players in the NBA. Over the past few years, Bryant has taken his brand global with trips to Asia.

Although only appearing in six games, Bryant was still voted into the All-Star game by the fans, a true showing of his popularity among the NBA viewers.

According to Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News, Bryant trails only LeBron James as the most searched athlete on Google:

And as a result, both James and Bryant are considered the first and second most searched athlete on Google, according to a study performed by Bestticketsblog. After tracking Google’s search volume data from April 2013 to April 2014, Bryant is considered the most searched athlete in California.

Both Bryant and James are two of the most polarizing figures in the NBA right now, winning a combined seven championships, five MVPs, and four Finals MVPs. It comes as no surprise that the two would lead the list of most searched athletes.

While Bryant has stayed in the shadows when it comes to the Lakers, the superstar has done anything but that off the court. Bryant has ventured across the globe promoting his brand and recently started his own company Kobe Inc., which made its first investment in the sports drink, BodyArmor.

Bryant is cemented as one of the league’s legends over the past two decades. His legacy alone will continue to make sure he is among the NBA’s most memorable players for years to come.
